Safeguarding Children & Young People Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
At Undisputed Fitness & Martial Arts, the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every child and young person who trains with us is a priority.
We aim to provide a safe, positive and inclusive environment in which children can enjoy martial arts, develop confidence and reach their potential.
Our Commitment
Undisputed is committed to:
Putting children's welfare and wellbeing first.
Treating children with dignity and respect.
Providing a safe and supportive training environment.
Taking safeguarding concerns seriously.
Responding appropriately to concerns or disclosures.
Promoting appropriate professional boundaries between coaches and young people.
Encouraging an environment where children feel able to speak to a trusted adult if something concerns them.
Staff & Coaches
Coaches working with children are expected to understand and follow our safeguarding procedures and standards of conduct.
Appropriate recruitment, checks, training and supervision will be used according to the role and applicable requirements.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Undisputed has safeguarding leadership in place to oversee concerns and help ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
Our founder also brings extensive experience from working within a primary-school environment, including Designated Safeguarding Lead experience. This knowledge supports our approach to creating a safe and positive environment for children within martial arts.

Reporting a Concern
Any concern regarding the safety or welfare of a child should be reported promptly to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Concerns will be handled sensitively and information will only be shared with appropriate individuals or organisations where necessary.
Where a child may be at immediate risk of harm, appropriate emergency services or safeguarding authorities should be contacted.
Appropriate Conduct
Coaches should maintain appropriate professional boundaries and use coaching methods suitable for the child's age and development.
Physical contact should only take place where appropriate to martial arts instruction, safety or welfare and should be proportionate to the situation.
Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, abuse or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
Parents & Guardians
We encourage parents and guardians to communicate openly with our team regarding anything that may affect their child's safety, wellbeing or participation.
Parents should ensure emergency contact and relevant medical information is kept up to date.
Photography & Social Media
Images of children will be managed carefully and in accordance with our Photography & Video Policy.
Confidentiality & Information Sharing
Safeguarding information will be handled carefully. However, confidentiality cannot be promised where information needs to be shared to protect a child or another person from harm.
Review
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated where appropriate.
The safety and wellbeing of our young members will always come before sporting performance or achievement.
